1820 to Eighty20
Eighty20 is currently situated in Woodstock, one of Cape Town’s business hubs. However, Woodstock was not always the industrial area that it is today. Originally, Woodstock was inhabited by Khoikhoi who were displaced by the Dutch in the 1600s. By the 1800s, the area was a beachfront neighborhood called Papendorp. Once a railway was built in 1862, industrialization accelerated the transformation of Woodstock – named after a favourite pub.
