A not so bright reality
2015 has been the most intensive loadshedding year experienced since the start of the new millenium in South Africa. In 2015 an estimated 1.4TWh was shed, which equates to 57 days of continuous load shedding – we have already seen ~70% of this load being shed in 2022 (39 days). If the second half of the year sees the same amount of loadshedding, we could experience ~80 days of continuous loadshedding.
