A presidential affair
The 3rd President of the USA, Thomas Jefferson lived as a common-law husband with his slave, Sally Hemings, and fathered 6 of her children after the death of his wife. Sally was part of Jefferson’s inheritance through his wife, Martha Wayles Skelton Jefferson. Sally was also Martha’s half-sister.
