A Sign of the Tides
Based on assessments surrounding thermal expansion and glacial mass loss, the expected Global Mean Sea Level (GMSL) will rise between 18cm and 23cm by 2050. The IPCC report warns that these estimated values could accelerate due to the sustained disintegration of marine ice-shelves in the Polar regions. Furthermore, it concludes that the majority of coastal locations will experience an average sea level rise of +/- 20% of the median projected GMSL change within this century.
