Opened in 2017, the iconic Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa situated in Cape Town is made from an old grain silo in the old heart of the city’s harbour. The Silo building, which consists of 56 storage silos and an adjacent elevator building, has an interior carved out in the shape of an enlarged grain of corn that was actually found on the site prior to construction.
