Alcohol-free
The SA Liquor Products Act defines an alcohol-free beverage as one that is less than 0.05% ethanol. Alcohol-free drinks are either made through ‘vacuum distillation’ or through ‘reverse osmosis’. Vacuum distillation lowers the boiling point of the liquids using a pressure vacuum and the alcohol is then boiled away. Reverse osmosis essentially allows only the water and alcohol to pass through a filter. The alcohol is then distilled out of the mix and the water and remaining acids are then added back into the mixture. (http://bit.ly/2xXL90L, http://bit.ly/2QnO4qu)
