The Gini coefficient (based on disposable income) for South Africa as a whole is 0.72. (See below for a description of the Gini coefficient.) For Black Africans, the Gini is 0.63, and for White people it is 0.56. (StatsSA, Income and Expenditure Survey 2005/6)
