At ~50% of the population, women still face challenges in contemporary society. They are largely responsible for child-care and form 60% of the labour force in sub-Saharan Africa. The McKinsey Global Institute estimates that women contribute 37% to global GDP, which would increase by ~$12 trillion if women’s work-inequality were eradicated.
