In a recent study, scientists utilized crystals collected during the Apollo 17 mission in 1972 to refine our understanding of the Moon’s formation timeline. Their findings have extended the estimated age of the Moon by 40m years, making our understanding of the Moon’s age to be at least 4.46bn years.
