Are we there yet?
It is generally understood that September’s spring in the southern hemisphere. Sometimes (e.g. agriculture) it is better to define the seasons based on daily temperature (which can vary by more than 10 degrees depending on where in South Africa you are). With these definitions almost 70% of meteorological stations in South Africa agree with the usual understanding that September is in spring, but a quarter state it is still winter. Interestingly, almost 10% consider September to already be summer.
