Brings tears to your ice
In late May 2021, an Antarctic ice shelf broke off to become the largest iceberg in the world. Dubbed “A-76”, the 4,320 km^2 floating island is roughly 73 times the size of Manhattan and could be floating in the ocean for years before it disintegrates. The increased rates of iceberg calving witnessed over recent years can be attributed to rising global temperatures as a result of climate change.
