Researchers from Wits University have attempted to quantify the damaging effects of the flooding which swept through KwaZulu-Natal in April last year. In just 24 hours the KZN coastal zone experienced over 300mm of rain, wreaking havoc and leaving over 40,000 people homeless, with an estimated US$2bn worth of infrastructure damage.
