The price of Petrol Unleaded 93 inland has risen by 53% year-on-year to R26.31 in July 2022. Cumulative fuel price increases have contributed significantly to the overall consumer price inflation which reached 6.5% in May 2022. StatsSA highlighted that fuel is a major contributor, accounting for 1.4% of this headline inflation.
