Confidence
The gap in consumer confidence between whites and blacks was furthest apart in August of 1998. (difference between net balance points was 64) In March of 1994, just prior to the first democratic elections, the difference was 27 points. The gap has not been greater than 20 points since June of 2001. The difference currently sits at less than 10 points. (BER Consumer Confidence Index)
