   SA is one of 52 countries in Africa. For the US then, that equates to 359 423 barrels a day per state – which means in Africa, SA’s consumption is nearly double that of the average US state!

   I think a more valid comparison than US state vs. all of SA is barrels per day per person. In the US that number is 0.061, in SA it is 0.012.
