Crossed Legs Protest
In 2003 Liberian women used a sex strike as one of their tactics to protest the ongoing civil war. Women refused to be intimate with their partners until there was an end to the fighting. With a history dating all the way back to Greece in 411 BCE, in recent years ‘crossed legs’ protests have been organised in countries as diverse as Kenya, Belgium and Columbia.
