Central African Republic (CAR) is the second country to approve Bitcoin as legal tender. This move has been met with suspicion, not only because only ~4% of the population can access the internet, but also because CAR relies heavily on Russian mercenaries to fight rebel forces in the country. With current sanctions hindering payment of this military support, a Bitcoin currency could be an alternative method of payment.
