The Heavy Hitters are the wealthiest, mostly male, 5% of South Africans who hold more assets than any other segment. Their present debt load is more than seven times that of the Middle Class Workers, and while having a debt to net income ratio of 160%, 88% of that debt is secured. 95% of this segment is credit active with 21% having defaulted on their debt.
