Ethnomusicology
Three flutes found at the Geisenklösterle Cave archaeological site in southern Germany are the oldest known musical instruments in the world. Made from bird bone and mammoth ivory, carbon dating shows these flutes to be between 42,000 and 43,000 years old. Researchers have argued that music helped large groups of early humans develop and maintain strong bonds. (https://bbc.in/2NHeqWN)
