According to the Department of Education, Gauteng was the best performing province for the 2014 NSC matric exams with a pass rate of 84.7%, followed by the North West which achieved 84.6%. The Eastern Cape emerged as the worst performing province again, achieving 65.4%. (http://bit.ly/14zARlS)
