How much is too much?
The CDC defines moderate drinking as two drinks or less per day for adult men, and one drink or less per day for adult women. Light to moderate drinking has been shown to reduce the risk of death from all cardiovascular causes. However there is also strong evidence that heavy drinking (volumes in excess of moderate drinking) increases the risk of various cancers including cancers of the mouth and throat, liver, breast, colon and rectum.
