How Represented are Women?
According to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the majority of parliaments around the world are still heavily male-dominated and as of 1st June 2020, the global average of women in national parliaments stood at 25%. Since 1994, there has been a significant increase in female representation in the South African National Assembly, with 46% of the house seats occupied by women.
