Kwanzaa
Kwanzaa is an African-American tradition celebrating African heritage. The holiday was created in 1966 as a means of promoting a sense of African-American community and combines traditions from all over Africa. The celebrations start on 26 December and continue for six days. Each day a candle is lit, symbolizing a different value such as unity and self-determination. The holiday culminates in gift giving on January first.
