   The 2011 Mid year population estimates from Statistics SA has life expectancy at 57 years and as such disputes the figures given by the World Bank and the UNDP as being somewhat outdated.

   Since life expectancy takes into account premature children deaths (which is improving) and with the highest prevalence of HIV is SA (which has also improved over the years), it is likely that the number has improved significantly since 2010. But not to the levels of China. I only hope the stats are used to improve basic services, health care and education in particular, employment and job creation opportunities and improve rural development, remember that China also has viable rural self- sustenance communities.
