Literature and Learning in Children
A study performed in 2019 estimated that children who are read to regularly are exposed to about 1.4 million more words in the first 5 years of their lives than children who aren’t. This significantly improves their vocabulary and the rate at which they learn to read. Reading also improves a child’s attention span, creativity, listening skills, and cognitive and language development.
