A 2022 report released by Sortlist suggests that South African internet users have the 4th highest average screen time in the world at 10 hours and 6 minutes per person per day, equivalent to 154 days a year online. 54 of these days (three and half hours per day) are spent solely on social media. The Philippines had the highest average screen time globally, with over 166 days a year spent entirely online.
