      I think the 80c per litre was a useful addition to the discussion. (cf 1/6th of a cent for tap water)

   ….and still our tap water is far superior for drinking, et al, than the bottled water. Why SA citizens insist on going the European route when we a blessed with better on our door step, emanates from a cultural identity crises which we suffer from.

   My family and I have lived and worked in many South African towns over the years; these including Cape Town, Somerset West, Worcester, Mossel Bay, Johannesburg and Pietersburg. At no time have we ever experienced any form of malady or health hazards from drinking the municipal tap water. There is, however, talk of health hazards having become a reality in many of our centers in the last ten years. So, maybe it will pay to become one of the cruelly exploited elite, fashion and trend-conscious fraternity, where one may not be able to eat too well but will at least be able to totally disregard water-borne diseases.

   We in CPT are privelaged to have good clean water on tap. why would i want to pay for bottled water? and by doing so, i would be adding on to the problem of plastic waste that is caused by the empty bottles. Thank you Cape Town for the best water in the world!
