Mothers of a nation +1
When New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, gave birth to her daughter last year, she was not in fact the first head of state to give birth while in office. That honour goes to Benazir Bhutto who, in 1990, gave birth while she was prime minister of Pakistan. While Arden announced her pregnancy 5 months before she was due and took 6 weeks maternity leave, Bhutto hid her pregnancy until the day she gave birth, returning to work the following day.
