Multiple valentines
Valentine was a popular name in ancient Rome, and there are at least 50 stories of different saints by that name. The earliest surviving accounts of two St. Valentines linked to February 14 (written in the 500s) have a lot in common. Both were said to have healed a child while imprisoned, leading to a household-wide religious conversion. They were both executed on a February 14. Valentine’s Day only became associated with love in the late Middle Ages, thanks to the English poet Geoffrey Chaucer. (http://bit.ly/2SXEGP4)
