Luxury fashion houses, known for their exclusivity, have begun to open up to the online gaming market of 2.7bn players by creating digital clothing that players can purchase for their avatars. Louis Vuitton took the lead by collaborating with League of Legends in 2019 to reach 82m daily users – other houses followed suit when Gucci partnered with Roblox (42m users) and Balenciaga partnered with Fortnite (350m users).
