   A meaningless and potentially misleading statistic on its own. Needs to be on a per capita or per kWh basis – what you are saying is that Eskom generates more pollution than my braai, conveniently ignoring that Eskom generated power could cook my steak with far fewer CO2 emissions than my braai.

   Doesn’t make sense at all, we are a very small part of the world economy. This has to be misleading and we have very few power plants compared to bigger economies. CO2 is being labelled incorrectly as a pollutant in many cases. We need CO2 to live … take it out and life will end. How much is enough is a good question. We simply don’t know.

   So what! Billions of people need electricity, and the liberation it provides to get out of the poverty cycle, which itself is far more destructive (costing lives and environmental devastation) than human generated CO2.
