   As terrifying as this fact may appear to the grown up population, its worth noting that the source is a 2009 study. One hopes that the 2010/11 picture won’t look as stupid, with Malema having had another year in which to demonstrate his thoughtlessness. Am I over-estimating Joe Citizen? We’ll have to wait and see.

   i am actually horified that inspite of the antics and comments of Malema the youth still have confidence in him to that extent. but even more horrfyig is taht the more mature are at 49% i would have thought that this could not exceed 10% in any thinking society. which in its self is the greater tragedy, our society has lost or not regained the ability to separate good from bad in the period since the demise of apartheid. marketing and press drive the masses hence the rulling parties need to control the press.

   Wow, this is shocking! I am 22 and I can say for certain that I am definitely not in that 65%. I can’t believe how many people have been brainwashed by his antics! Malema is a joke, how can we respect and have confidence in him as a leader? As a PRESIDENT? Where are the real leaders in our society, are there any?

   I might not agree with the stat because of it’s result but I would really love to know how this fact was gathered?I’ve been receiving the fact a day for a number of years already but often see facts that I can’t understand how they were determined because it would be extremely difficult to obtain such facts! Would love to know the details of the survey used to obtain this fact when it just happens to fit in with creating histeria and sensationalism!

   futurefact is a survey of the attitudes, values and beliefs of South Africans that has been monitoring these trends since 1998. It is an area stratified random probability sample of 2,500 adults aged 16 plus throughout the country but excluding deep rural (communities of fewer than 500 people). It is conducted each year by a reputatable research house skilled in face to face interviews for large scale surveys (eg ACNielsen, Ipsos Markinor. It is a non profit survey funded by subscriptions to the survey by a variety of public and private sector organisations. As such it stands scrutiny for its statistically valid and unbiased approach – in other words it is completely kosher!
