   What is interesting is that I have not seen this bit of news anywhere in the press.Certainly already very “partly free”.

      I would think that the mere fact that there is a proposed bill to curb press freedom is sufficient to change the status of the press in this country.

      29th of April is the date the Freedom House report was released, so the downgrading to ‘partly free’ happened some time in the year to this date. It doesn’t reflect events after this date.

   The bill is appauling to say the list. I think angement is better than policing unless a person has something to hide. There is a lot to be said about responsible reporting in this country though as well. I however strongly disagree that the right way to deal with this is through “shutting” the media down.
