   Anybody who is shocked at that statistic has been sleeping since 1994, when expansive evidence of the comprehensive nature of oppression and marginalisation enacted daily pre-1994 was exposed.
   It would be foolhardy to think that suppressing the development of intellect through education, self-sustaining subsistence and human dignity of the majority of our citizens, with the silent support of those in power for over 400 years, i.e. lawmakers, educators, scientists, economists, church fathers, etc for almost 400 years would not have a reverberating effect. We are reaping today what was sewn, nurtured, propergated and stored. Question is: what are we doing about it today? Are all forms of corruption being exposed or is focus only on some politicians and some business people. Is the notion “Let’s leave the past behind and move on!” wise when we haven’t yet obliterated the effects of the past? How about a South African specific series of investigations in the vein of Michael Moore’s “Stupid White Men”, “Downsize This!”, “Dude, where’s my country?”, etc?

   The picture painted by Dr Tyvesson is very bleak and gory indeed,unless we as South Africans stand up and profess our intention and national resolve as corrective measure to effect change. Question is ARE WE A NATION WITH A DREAM, IF YES, WHAT IS THE SOUTH AFRICAN DREAM?
