Exports from Africa were worth about US$582 billion in 2013, up 58.7% since 2009. African exports represent an estimated 3.2% of total world exports. The top exporting countries in Africa are Nigeria ($96.3 bn, main exports are petroleum and petroleum products), followed by South Africa ($95.2 bn, main exports include gold, diamonds and platinum).
