Sanitation
In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly declared that everyone, everywhere, has the right to sanitation and a toilet. According to the MAPS 2022 dataset, available on the Eighty20 Data Portal, 2% of South African adults do not have access to a toilet. Almost half (45%) of South African adults do not have access to a flush toilet inside their house, and 27% of South African adults have access to a toilet that does not flush.
