   If describing Soccer as being a a game played by 2 sets of 11 dedicated, opposing, human male participants, who pass the ball around from one team member to another, and with reasonable precision for as long as possible; this until an opportunity arises to take a potluck shot with boot or head at the enormous net-backed goal mouth, seldom if ever scoring a goal, and otherwise entertaining the crowd by falling to the ground and rolling around in terrible pain every time contact is made with a member of the opposing team, then Soccer is certainly succeeding at fast becoming, by far, the most controversial and exciting form of intelligent crowd-boring sports-entertainment on earth, and all team members should be very highly commended for their undoubted, glaring expertise at scoring valuable points by the number of yellow or red cards shown to their opposing team members by the totally bored and overworked, traumatized referees. If my true assessment of what the game of soccer is now all about is close to accurate, then the game called Soccer most definitely did not exist in the early days when the likes of Sir Stanley Matthews were applauded for their dedication and expertise in playing with a similar round ball in front of vast crowds. Small wonder that I feel so totally at peace with the fact that I may never, ever again be graced with the opportunity of witnessing another sterling performance of the game by the likes of any of today’s highly emotional, hi-paid wonder boys!
