Soweto Uprising
On 16 June 1976, between 3 000 and 10 000 students marched against the introduction of the Bantu Education Act in 1953. They were mobilized by the South African Students Movement’s Action Committee, which was supported by the Black Consciousness Movement. This day is known as the Soweto Uprising and is an annual day of remembrance for all the brave students and young citizens who took part in the protest. (http://bit.ly/2R0tgqt, http://bit.ly/2KB6Gn4)
