Speaking in tongues
The seSotho (Southern Sotho) language, is South Africa’s 7th most spoken language (7.9% of the population) and one of the first African languages to be written down. It is one of the 11 official languages recognised by the South African constitution, and is closely related to South Africa’s 5th and 4th most spoken languages, seTswana (Western Sotho) and Sesotho sa Leboa (Northern Sotho, also known as Sepedi).
