According to MAPS 2020; 65% (28m) of adults in South Africa are single (not married). For the Western Cape, the proportion of people who are single is 67%, compared to the Free State which has the lowest proportion of single adults at 54%. The average age of someone living in the Free State is 10 years older than the average age of people in the Fair Cape.
