   So what is it? 36 million or 21 million? And what is the magic about R5000 per month? If you are a household of one, that means R5000 per month each. If you are a household of 10, that means R500 a month each. And is free water, free electricity, free health services, subsidised housing, etc factored into that amount or is that received over and above the R5000? And how does all that compare to the rest of the continent and the rest of the world? I visited a tribe in Mali who earn R0 per month and they had lived like that for generations and had no intention of changing. They had a highly organised and integrated social structure and I would say that they were probably as happy or unhappy as the rest of us. Sorry I think these ‘facts’ are meaningless.
