The Big Issue
Founded in London 1991, and now operating in 10 countries, The Big Issue is a street magazine which aims to provide homeless and at risk people with a source of legitimate income. The magazine has now grown to have operations in 10 countries. In South Africa, about 150 vendors buy the monthly magazine for R12.50 and sell it for R25, mainly at traffic lights.
