South Koreans recently became a year or two younger following a new law which aligned their traditional age-counting methods with the international standard. Previously, citizens were considered one year old at birth, with a year added every 1st January instead of on their birthday. Interestingly, this system means that a baby born on 31 December is 2 years old on their second day of life.
