The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)
The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is a programme under the Kyoto protocol. As of August 2018 the CDM has lead to the reduction or avoidance of 2 billion tonnes of CO2 through the sale of credits known as certified emission reductions (CERs), which each represent one tonne of CO2. These CERs can be traded and sold, stimulating sustainable development and emmsion reductions. (http://bit.ly/2DH5Lgo)
