The sky’s the limit
The South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) has a staff complement of 128 people, of which 45% are women. Additionally, 33% of the management group at SAAO are women. For comparison, women only account for 23% of professionals working in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields nationally and 17% in leadership roles.
