The Lockdown period led to a significant drop in employment which reflected the economic activity curtailed due to Covid-19 and efforts to contain it. Total non-farm formal employment dropped by 1.2 million to 10.1 million employed persons, a 10.8% q-o-q decline. The informal sector and private household sector declined by 21.9% and 23.6% respectively in this quarter as well.
