E-waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams, increasing by 82% from 34m metric tons globally in 2010 to 62m mt in 2022. Africa’s contribution is only around 3.5m mt, with Egypt (690,000 mt), South Africa (530,000 mt), and Nigeria (500,000 mt) the major contributors.
