   I don’t think that’s correct. 2% of South Africa’s GDP may be mediated via the Internet, but the Internet does not comprise 2% of GDP – unless you classify an air ticket purchased over the web as “Internet” rather than “travel”, and a novel bought from kalahari.net as “Internet” rather than “books”.

   It is important to understand that the internet economy as listed includes things like ISPs mobile and fixed. That is Telkom, Vodacom, MTN … which eats up half the pie.

   E-commerce per se is only around R11.5.

   The really surprising stat!!!! That mobile kicks the living daylights out of fixed line!
