Unfolding wildlife disaster
The Addax (a species of antelope) is as close to extinction in the wild as is it possibly could be. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature 2016 report, the population of wild Addaxes was estimated to be between 30 and 90. Oil industry activities, poaching and desert encroachment in the Sahara desert have been the major drivers behind the extinction of the species. (http://bit.ly/34vXqHX)
