Waiting on the Waitrons
According to the 2019Q4 Labour Force Survey there were approximately 120,000 South Africans that worked as Waitrons and Bartenders. As restaurants open to allow sit-down service, it is expected that these people will start heading back to work. Due to alcohol still being banned from restaurants, and bars/clubs still not being allowed to open however, many of these workers will have to wait out the COVID crisis even longer.
